Cellulite affects people of all ages, races, shapes, and sizes. Diet, lifestyle, hormones, and genetics all play a role in cellulite development. Cellulite can vary in severity, ranging from mild to moderate to severe, depending on the number of deep depressions in the skin and the degree of sagging or draped appearance of the skin.
Now with Qwo®, the only FDA-approved injection treatment for cellulite, you can treat those dimples and get back to a more confident you!
How It Works
Cellulite structurally occurs when the fibrous bands under the skin thicken and cause tension. The fat cells within those bands may enlarge and push against the skin, resulting in the appearance of the signature dimpling on your butt.
Qwo® works by releasing those fibrous bands (called septae), redistributing fat cells, and stimulating the growth of new collagen. Enzymes called collagenases target collagen Types I and III to release the septae, ultimately releasing the dimple and making the skin appear smooth.
Are You A Candidate?
You are a candidate for Qwo® treatments if you are an adult woman who struggles with cellulite in the buttocks area. During your consultation, your provider will assess your areas of concern and determine which package is right for you.
During your consultation, your aesthetic specialist will assist you in determining whether Qwo® cellulite therapy is the best solution for you. The appointment will also cover whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or intend to become pregnant.
You will be advised to abstain from alcohol and smoking two days before your Qwo® cellulite treatment. Your provider should be aware of all of your medications, including over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements. It is crucial to let your aesthetic specialist know if you have a history of bleeding or are currently using anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs.
At your appointment, your aesthetic specialist will discuss treatment and expectations. After identifying your treatment areas and discussing your goals, we’ll determine if a Half Moon or a Full Moon package is right for you. The buttocks and thighs are the two most commonly treated areas for cellulite therapy.
To administer Qwo®, we inject directly into the cellulite dimples of your buttocks. These injections take 10 minutes or less and require no post-treatment downtime.
Qwo® injections may create a small degree of discomfort. For your comfort, your practitioner may choose to use a topical anesthetic to numb the area. Each treatment visit may include up to two treatment areas. Your Qwo® injections will be given three weeks apart for a total of three treatment visits, with visible results being achieved in as little as 10 weeks after your first treatment.
Your aesthetic specialist will talk to you about what to expect post-treatment and when to follow up with them.
QWO Cellulite Treatment Aftercare
There is little to no downtime/recovery time following Qwo® cellulite treatment. It is normal to have temporary soreness and swelling at the injection sites. Most patients will notice significant bruising after therapy. Each injection session results in bruising, which lessens with each subsequent treatment.
Qwo® patients can return to their daily routines and exercise 24 to 48 hours after treatment.
